From Blog to Banger: How AI Turns Longform into Viral Tweets

Sometimes the best content starts with a tweet.

Here’s the real story: We knew we were going to write this blog. But while planning content for social, we drafted a tweet, scheduled it for April 7… and liked it so much, we used it to guide the blog.

Yes, technically, the tweet came first. And that’s the power of repurposing done right.

Why Repurposing Works So Well

You’ve already got great content. A blog. A podcast. A newsletter. But most people only see a tiny slice of it—usually once.

Shortform posts give your content a second (or third) life. And with the help of AI, you can turn one longform piece into five high-performing tweets, LinkedIn posts, or captions—without adding to your workload.

The Tweet That Sparked This Blog

Here’s what we scheduled for April 7 on X:

@RTungseth“AI turned one dusty blog post into 5 fresh tweets.Engagement exploded.Repurpose like a pro.”
“Prompt ChatGPT: ‘Convert this blog into 5 tweets.’Use the best. Drop the rest.#AIinMarketing”

This tweet was inspired by a real moment—and the workflow we already use for Hedge Heads. We take podcast transcripts, turn them into newsletter content, and use that to fuel shortform posts.Simple. Effective. Scalable.

How to Go from Blog → 5 X Posts (or More)

This is our go-to process. It works for blogs, newsletters, transcripts—anything with substance.

Step 1: Drop your content into ChatGPT

Prompt:

“Rewrite this blog as 5 X posts. Each should be self-contained, helpful, and engaging. Include hooks, bullet points, or bold claims. Match the tone of this tweet: [insert tweet].”

Step 2: Choose the best

Edit them down. Keep the strongest ones. You don’t need all five.

Step 3: Schedule and go

Use a scheduler to spread your posts out and build momentum.

What Makes These Posts Work

🧠 They're built on already-polished content📈 They focus on one clear idea each🎯 They reflect your actual voice (if you prompt AI right)⚙️ And they take less than 15 minutes to create

Tools We Use

  • ChatGPT – For rewriting, summarizing, and repackaging

  • Grok – To analyze content and identify what’s clicking

  • Typefully – To schedule, test, and post threads or singles

  • Notion – For storing prompts and content libraries

Final Thoughts

You don’t need more content—you need more use out of the content you already have.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is schedule a tweet… and then realize it’s the best starting point for a blog. It’s not backwards—it’s efficient.

Use AI to spot those moments. Then ride the wave in both directions.
